David Morin Named Managing Partner

David Morin has been named by Will Davidson LLP’s partnership to succeed Gary Will as Managing Partner, starting February 1, 2022.

Gary Will has managed Will Davidson, LLP for more than 20 years now. Under Gary’s stewardship, the firm has evolved from a single Bay Street office in Toronto to a burgeoning firm of over 20 lawyers, with offices in Toronto, Oakville, Huntsville, Midland and Bowmanville. In addition to managing the firm, Gary established Will Davidson LLP’s annual continuing legal education program and has positioned Will Davidson LLP as a recognized leader in personal injury and insurance law.

In his personal practice, Gary has received many accolades from his peers, including being honoured as the first recipient of the prestigious Bruce Hillyer Award in 1996; serving as President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association in 2001; Nominee and Finalist for the prestigious Trial Lawyers for Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 2002; served the American Association of Justice sitting on their Board of Governors as Representative for Ontario from 2007 through to the present; certified by the Law Society as a Specialist in Civil Litigation; selected by the Best Lawyers in Canada for inclusion in their inaugural 2006 edition and every year since.

When asked of the upcoming changes in his role, Gary Will had the following to say: “I am excited to take this opportunity to expand my personal practice over the next 10 years and look forward to continuing to serve the legal community, forming alliances with other firms, and mentoring a new generation of exceptional lawyers.”

David Morin is a founding partner of Will Davidson LLP and works out of the Huntsville office. In addition to a challenging litigation practice, David has been privileged to hold many external titles: Former President of the Muskoka Law Association, Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Audit Committee, as well as Chair of the Paralegal Regulation Sub-Committee for the Ontario Bar Association.

“I am grateful to be leading this talented team of lawyers into the future,” expressed Morin about being named Managing Partner.

On behalf of the firm, Gary Will’s partners wish to recognize his historic achievements with the firm during his tenure as Managing Partner and wish him continued success as he passes the burden of management to David Morin. At the same time, the partnership is excited to have in David Morin, an energetic and dynamic new Managing Partner to help carry on the Will Davidson LLP tradition of excellence. This is a task to which he is amply suited, and the partnership offers him their congratulations and support for the future.
