Marinela graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. While in law school, she placed as a finalist in the BLG/Cavalluzzo Hayes Labour and Employment Law Competitive Moot and was a volunteer for Pro Bono Students Canada. She was called to the bar in 2018 and holds a certificate in negotiation.
Marinela articled at a reputable organization where she gained experience in insurance defence, corporate law, employment law, and real estate law. Prior to joining Will Davidson LLP, she maintained a busy personal injury practice, representing both claimants and insurers in motor vehicle accidents, property damage claims, slip and falls, and long-term disability claims. She also attended numerous examinations for discovery and examinations under oath. Marinela comes to Will Davidson LLP with a wide range of experience in personal injury litigation.
Currently, Marinela’s practice encompasses both insurance defence and plaintiff personal injury. Her insurance defence practice is diverse and her plaintiff personal injury practice focuses on medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls and product liability claims. She takes pride in understanding the needs of both parties and enjoys leveraging her diverse experience to better advocate for her clients.
In her spare time, Marinela enjoys travelling, volunteering, and playing tennis.
